Calvert City invites students, families and community members to celebrate the excitement of a new school year during the Back to School Splash on Friday, Aug. 14, from 5-7 p.m. at Calvert City Memorial Park.

Held during Food Truck Friday Nights, the event will give children an opportunity to play while parents socialize and connect with other members of the school community.

The celebration will feature inflatables, music, prizes, splash pad fun and food trucks. A Foam and Color Blast Party will begin at 6 p.m.

“The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time for our children, families, teachers and staff,” Mayor Gene Colburn said. “We are proud of the Calvert Elementary School community and wish every student and educator a safe, successful and memorable school year. The Back to School Splash is a fun way for our community to come together and celebrate the year ahead.”

Families are encouraged to bring their friends and enjoy an evening of food, entertainment and activities at Calvert City Memorial Park.
