GRAB YOUR YOGA MATS, AND GET READY TO MOVE WITH GRACE EVERY TUESDAY AT 6 P.M. AT THE CALVERT CITY CIVIC CENTER.
Having spent her entire life in Marshall County, Bacon is a dedicated mother and a full-time professional who loves life’s simple pleasures. Juggling the responsibilities of raising two sons and two dogs, she still finds time for her own joy, which includes a deep appreciation for yoga, food, live shows, her love for the outdoors, and a diverse range of music.
Her mission is to create a safe, judgment-free space where individuals can prioritize self-care and mindfulness.
“I want my class to be a sanctuary for people to take a break from the demands of life, connect with yourself, and breathe. All levels are welcome. I encourage my yogis to listen to their bodies and adjust as needed. This is your practice, and my goal is for you to leave feeling good and relaxed both physically and mentally,” expressed Bacon.
Residents of Calvert City are invited to join in on this exciting yoga journey, fostering connections with others and embracing the myriad benefits of yoga.
Yoga mats will not be provided. Children are allowed but must be accompanied by an adult. Classes will be held once a week on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. at the Calvert City Civic Center. There is no charge

Yard of the Season has been established to promote goodwill and reward exemplary lawn care in the community! The purpose of the program is to recognize neighbors who demonstrate above-average efforts in maintaining their property, thereby contributing to the overall appearance of the community at large. This project is sponsored by The Jeter Group in Calvert City!
Yard of the Season Guidelines
– All residential properties within the city limits are automatically eligible.
– Award winners are selected based on the recommended judging criteria listed below.
– The upkeep of the yard can reflect the efforts of the residents themselves or that of a professional landscaper.
– The same property cannot receive more than one award in a 12-month calendar period.
– While an individual’s home/business is being recognized as a “Yard of the Season” they are expected to maintain their yard in the same manner that allowed them to win the title.
– The judging months are May 16, July 31, October 24 (Fall Decorating Contest), and December 5 (Holiday Decorating Contest).
Judging Criteria
-Yard of the Season candidates are judged solely on the total exterior appearance of their property and front yard.
– Factors include the overall appearance, tidiness, neatness, trimmed and shaped foliage, and visually appealing façade.
– Nominations can be submitted via the form below.
– Walkways and driveways shall be clean (including trash containers or yard products removed from view). The area in front of the curb must be free from debris and dirt. The appearance after dusk includes accent lighting, safety lighting, visible interior lighting, etc.
– The front entryway should be inviting, with original and creative touches to show personality (hanging baskets, pots, yard art, bird feeders, etc.)
The Yard of the Season is dedicated to improving the quality of living and appearance of our community. We encourage residents to take pride in their homes and neighborhoods. In turn, we look to celebrate those who do a superior job in maintaining their yards in such a way that they enhance the overall curb appeal of the entire community.
Winners will receive a $50 gift card to Holly Nursery. These gift cards are sponsored by The Jeter Group in Calvert City.
