Calvert City is welcoming the 2025-2026 school year with a community celebration during its special evening edition of Food Truck Friday. The Back to School Splash will take place on Thursday, August 15, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Calvert City Memorial Park, offering an evening of family fun, excitement, and back-to-school spirit for the entire community.
Families are invited to join in the celebration as Calvert City transforms Memorial Park into a festive atmosphere where kids can play and parents can connect. Activities include inflatable bounce houses, music, and full access to the splash fountain. Local food trucks will be onsite for dinner and treats, and the evening will wrap up with a foam party and prize giveaways—including Amazon and Walmart gift cards donated by local businesses and organizations.
“As we celebrate the start of a new school year, I want to wish every student, teacher, and family a safe and successful year ahead. The Back to School Splash is our way of bringing the community together in support of education, connection, and fun. Let’s encourage our students to stay motivated, be kind, and give their best this school year,” said Calvert City’s Mayor Gene Colburn.
Local organizations and businesses are encouraged to participate by setting up a booth to welcome students back to school. This is a great opportunity to engage with families and support education in Calvert City. There is no fee to participate. To reserve a booth, email info@calvertcityky.gov.
The event is free and open to the public, thanks to the generous support of Calvert Area Development Association, 50’s Cafe, and Hilary Washer State Farm, the official sponsors of this year’s Back to School Splash.
Come be a part of the fun, celebrate the new school year, and make lasting memories with your neighbors on August 15 from 5-7 PM in Calvert City Memorial Park, 1072 5th Ave, Calvert City, KY 42029.
