The KY Lake Paddle Up is a family-friendly paddle event sponsored in partnership by The City of Calvert City, the Calvert Area Development Association (CADA), and the Tennessee RiverLine. Paddlers are invited to the 2025 KY Lake Fall Paddle Up on Saturday, October 4, launching at 9 a.m. from Sledd Creek Boat Ramp and finishing at the Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp.
Participants are asked to have kayaks at Sledd Creek by 8:30 a.m. Please coordinate with a friend so one vehicle is staged at the Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp before launch. Drop kayaks at Sledd Creek (event staff will monitor boats), then take a vehicle to the Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp so your car is waiting at the take-out.
This year’s Paddle Up offers two routes/experiences:
  • Leisure Paddle: A relaxed, self-paced float from Sledd Creek to the Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp.
  • Exploratory Geology Paddle: Join local geology enthusiast John Tilson along the Kentucky Lake shoreline to learn about visible rock formations and fossils on the way to the take-out.
Marshall County Rescue Squad will be on-site, floating alongside the group. All paddlers are required to wear a life jacket and know how to swim. A brief safety course will be held before the launch of the group.
Thank you to Pathway Baptist Church for providing a shuttle to and from take-out and launch.
  • Event Schedule:
    Checkin: 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
    Safety and Overview: 8:45 AM
    Shuttle Service: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
    Paddle Day Take-off: 9:00 AM
Door Prize Drawing and Lunch Voucher – Upon completion of the paddle at approximately 11:00 AM.

Tennessee RiverLine Partnership

Calvert City is proud to be a part of the Tennessee RiverLine, North America’s next great regional trail system, which connects communities along the Tennessee River with opportunities for outdoor adventure, health and wellness, and river conservation.

“The partnership with the Tennessee RiverLine has been a tremendous benefit to Calvert City,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing and business development for Calvert City. “Through this collaboration, we share a fleet of kayaks with McCracken County and Calloway County, allowing our community to host events like the Spring and Fall Paddle Up events that encourage residents and visitors to explore the beauty of Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River.”
