The Calvert City Christmas Bazaar is a fundraiser for the Calvert/Sharpe Family Resource Center and is organized by Lakeland Event Center director, Chelsy Solomon and the Calvert Area Development Association (CADA). In the last five years, this event has grown from nearly 100 vendors to nearly 200 vendors.
The first weekend in December, Calvert City kicks off the holiday season with a list of special events. “The Christmas Bazaar is the perfect time to get those personalized gifts for those on your holiday shopping list,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing, communications, and business development for Calvert City. “This event highlights our town and gives opportunities to local entrepreneurs to showcase their talent.”
The Christmas Bazaar had an overwhelming interest in local arts and craft vendors this year. Over 180 vendors are estimated to set up on December 2 with five locations to shop. Including a sixth location for do-it-yourself workshops.
The event begins on December 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations: Altona Baptist Church – Go Center, Calvert City Civic Center, Calvert City First Baptist Church, Lakeland Event Center, and the former Family Dollar Building.
Stop at each location and check off booths on the vendor bingo form to be entered in to win prizes donated by local vendors and CADA. The cost to enter the bazaar is $1 and gives you access to all six locations.
Back by popular demand – the Santa’s do-it-yourself Workshop. Register for workshops throughout the day on December 2 from candle pouring, paint your own bath bomb, pillowcase creations, and more at the Calvert City United Methodist Church during the bazaar.
