On October 12 over 50 community members came together not just for a walk but for a cause that touches so many lives – breast cancer awareness.
This Carol Capps Pink Walk is about more than just steps; it’s about standing in solidarity with those fighting, celebrating survivors, and honoring the memories of loved ones we’ve lost. When we walk together, we send a powerful message: that no one in Calvert City fights alone.
Awareness leads to early detection, early detection saves lives, and community support makes the road easier to walk. Calvert Area Development Association (CADA) has organized the walk for the last four years after taking the reins from Carol Capps. Carol raised over $70,000 in her 15 years of organizing the “Calvert City Pink Walk” and this year marks the first year for the new name – The Carol Capps Pink Walk, in honor of Carol Capps who died in 2023.
CADA would like to thank its event sponsors, 50’s Cafe and Hilary Washer, Calvert City State Farm Agent, for their support of this year’s walk.
Also, a BIG thanks to the businesses and Calvert City residents who donated to the silent auction. Those include Marshall County Health Department, Councilmember Neeta Hale, Sunshine Pools and Spas, Annette Smith, The Basketcase Florist and Gifts, Shop-o-rama, CFSB, State Farm, and Blondie’s Hair Salon.
Today we walked with a purpose and with hope in our hearts. Below are the people we walked for!
