The City of Calvert City, Kentucky, has an opening for a Water/Wastewater Laborer. Interested applicants must file an application at the Clerk’s Office of Calvert City—City Hall no later than 12:00 p.m. central standard time on Friday, November 1, 2024.
The person selected for this position shall report to the Utility System Superintendent and:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be available for mandatory emergency call-outs 24/7
- Must be available for periodic weekend duties which require the completion of scheduled tasks and on-call response
Under supervisory direction, this position is responsible for operations and maintenance of:
- Water and Wastewater treatment plants
- Water distribution system
- Wastewater collection system
- General laborer tasks
Laborers will preferably obtain proper licenses and certifications to comply with Kentucky regulations. The Utility Department covers the cost of certification, including training, training materials, and testing.
