Calvert City Welcomes New Police Officer Chris Baker
Calvert City is proud to announce the hiring of Officer Chris Baker as the newest member of the Calvert City Police Department. Baker fills a vacant position within the department and brings four years of law enforcement experience to the role.
Baker was sworn in by Mayor Gene Colburn on Thursday, February 12, at Calvert City Hall.
Baker previously served with the Princeton Police Department, where he worked for four years. While he valued his time in Princeton, Baker said he was grateful for the opportunity to move closer to home and serve the community where he lives. A resident of Marshall County, he looks forward to being active and engaged in the community both on and off duty.
Mayor Gene Colburn welcomed Baker to the team and expressed appreciation for the department’s continued dedication to the community.
“We are pleased to welcome Officer Baker to Calvert City,” Colburn said. “I want to thank our police department for the outstanding job they do every day. They are active in our community and work tirelessly to keep our streets safe. Adding experienced officers like Chris only strengthens that commitment.”
Calvert City Police Chief Mike Canon said Baker’s experience and community-focused mindset make him a strong addition to the department.
“Officer Baker brings solid experience and a genuine desire to serve,” Canon said. “He has already demonstrated his commitment to community policing, and we are excited to have him join our team. His background and familiarity with the area will be a great asset to Calvert City.”
The City of Calvert City looks forward to Officer Baker’s service and the continued efforts of the police department to build strong relationships within the community while maintaining public safety.
