Steve and D’Ache Moneymaker have been selected as the Grand Marshals for the 2026 Ameribration Parade, in recognition of their years of service, volunteerism, and dedication to improving the quality of life in Calvert City.
The Moneymakers have called Calvert City home for approximately six years. After no longer having relatives in Livingston County, they chose to move closer to family, joining their son and his family in Calvert City.
While they are well known for their work with the mountain bike team, Steve and Dache have also dedicated countless hours to trail building and maintenance, volunteering with Calvert Area Development Association (CADA), and assisting with physical education programs at Calvert City Elementary School. Their efforts help create opportunities for children and families to stay active. Each Tuesday morning and afternoon, they ride alongside kids on the Calvert City Bike Bus, helping create a safe, fun, and active way for children to travel to and from school.
Their commitment to cycling and outdoor recreation extends beyond the Bike Bus. The couple has played a key role in the development and promotion of the Moneymaker Trail, a five-mile single-track mountain biking and walking trail in Calvert City that has become a popular destination for beginner cyclists and hikers. Their efforts have helped expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors while showcasing the community’s natural beauty.
The honor of serving as Grand Marshals is one they do not take lightly.
“We are truly honored to be included in the company of past Grand Marshals,” Steve said. The honor is one they are eager to share with others.
During the 2026 AmeriBration Parade, they will be accompanied by Calvert City Elementary School students and teachers, Bike Bus participants, and many of the people they have mentored through cycling programs over the years. In fact, Steve and D’Ache said they would only accept the Grand Marshal honor if those who have ridden, learned, and grown alongside them could be part of the parade as well.
When they are not volunteering, the Moneymakers enjoy taking advantage of the many recreational opportunities available throughout Calvert City. Their favorite activities include mountain biking, walking, riding golf carts, and spending time with family. “Calvert City genuinely cares,” D’Ache said. “It is a safe, secure, convenient, and fun community with ambitious standards and continuous improvement to infrastructure. Where else can you find multi-use trails, free batting cages, free pickleball courts, a skatepark, and a splash pad all with a small town feel?”
CADA President Brittany Story said the couple exemplifies the community spirit that makes Calvert City special.
“Steve and D’Ache are exactly the kind of residents every community hopes to have,” Story said. “They invest their time, talents, and energy into making Calvert City a better place for everyone. From helping our children learn to ride bikes to developing recreational opportunities, they have made a lasting impact. These are the residents we need in our community, and I can think of no one more deserving to serve as Grand Marshals for our 2026 Ameribration Parade.”
The City of Calvert City invites residents and visitors to join in celebrating Steve and D’Ache Moneymaker during the 2026 Ameribration Parade as the community honors their dedication, leadership, and service on July 4, beginning at 6:00 PM along 5th Ave. For those wishing to be a part of the parade, the lineup begins at Pathway Baptist Church at 5:00 PM.
