Bluegrass music, fall shopping and free family fun will fill Memorial Park Oct. 2-3 as Calvert City River Folk Fest welcomes residents and visitors to spend part of their fall break in Calvert City.
Organized by the City of Calvert City and Calvert Area Development Association, the two-day festival offers free admission, live music, arts and crafts vendors, petting zoo, food trucks and free inflatables. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, gather with friends and enjoy a fall weekend in the park.
The festivities begin Friday, Oct. 2, with vendors, food trucks and free inflatables from 5 to 7 p.m. An open-stage jam will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a performance by the South Union Bluegrass Band at 7 p.m.
The celebration continues Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a full day of music, shopping, food and activities for children. Saturday’s entertainment lineup includes:
- 11 a.m.: Square dancers
- Noon: Rebecca Frazier Trio
- 1:30 p.m.: Darren Nicholson Band
- 3 p.m.: Josh Williams and Don Rigsby
- 4:30 p.m.: Darin and Brooke Aldridge
Arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and free inflatables will be available throughout Saturday’s festivities, giving families plenty to enjoy between performances.
