The Kentucky Bicycle and Bikeway Commission will hold its annual meeting on Oct. 6 and 7 in Calvert City featuring bicycle and bikeway leaders and advocates. The first day of the annual meeting is reserved for KBBC Commissioners where they will review and discuss the Paula Nye grant applications. The second day (Oct 7) is open to the public and will feature a variety of topics. Featured topics will include information about the recently approved Complete Streets Policy and the adoption of the KYTC Complete Streets, Roads, and Highways Manual. Other topics include information about improving the safety of vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians, and presentations from other communities across KY that are making significant progress in transforming their communities to be more bike-friendly.
The meeting will be held at the Calvert City Civic Center in Calvert City. The theme is “Compete the Streets-Biking’s Future in Kentucky”. The deadline for registration is Oct. 3 and includes lunch. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
