The sky above Calvert will be bursting with color and joy as the Calvert Area Development Association (CADA) proudly presents the return of its annual Kites Over Calvert event on Saturday, May 2, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Doctor’s Park Sports Complex.
CADA will be giving away free kites to children on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to arrive early and join the fun! This community-favorite event is free and open to the public, inviting people of all ages to take part in a timeless spring tradition.
“Kites Over Calvert has become a tradition that truly represents what our community is all about—families, fun, and spending time outdoors together,” said Brittany Story, president of CADA. “There’s nothing like seeing the sky filled with kites and smiles. We’re thrilled to continue this special event for over ten years now. CADA extends a heartfelt thank you to its members and event sponsors: 50’s Cafe, State Farm – Hilary Washer, Calvert City Agent, Lake Chem Credit Union, and Los Tres Amigos, whose support makes this event possible.”
Popcorn and Lemonade will be served, and the entire event is free and open to the public.
As always, the event operates on “kite-time.” If weather conditions aren’t favorable, the event will be rescheduled for the following Saturday. Attendees are encouraged to check local social media updates for any changes.
