Calvert City released its 2023 utility rates, which will take effect on January’s bill. The city’s rates will increase in 2023 but remain lower regionally.
The 4.77% increase in 2023 is necessary to adequately fund the operations and capital improvements of our water and sewer systems. The city’s utility rates remain affordable, while also financing the maintenance of the city’s aging distribution system.
The increase is not simply a billing fee. The decision to increase by the city council members was to help fund:
- Maintenance of the city’s water system.
- Infrastructure at the water treatment plant.
- Upgrades to the facilities.
- All of the costs associated with managing accounts and utility billing.
Please see the attached water and sewer rate adjustment for 2023. For further questions, please call Calvert City Hall at 270-395-7138 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
