Embark on an artistic adventure with ‘Kids Art in the Park,’ an exhilarating half-day program designed to ignite your child’s creative spirit! Hosted by the City of Calvert City and the Calvert Area Development Association, this immersive experience invites children to dive into the world of fine arts through hands-on workshops and more. Join us in Calvert City Memorial Park on June 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free and open to the public, this event will offer a fun-filled day dedicated to all things ART!
Event Highlights:
Kid’s Business Fair
Support young entrepreneurs at the Kid’s Business Fair! This is a fantastic opportunity for kids (17 and under) to launch their businesses and learn essential skills like customer service, marketing, and sales. Kids will be selling a variety of products and services, including face painting, jewelry, bath bombs, and artwork. Don’t forget to bring your money to support over 30 budding business owners!
Live Entertainment
Enjoy a day full of live performances from local kids on the amphitheater stage. Acts will include banjo, guitar, cello, cloggers, singing, and much more! Julia Watkins, merges her timeless classical training, with modern music and will be the event’s emcee, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere. Watkins desires to help inspire others to follow their passion. She knows how challenging it can be to find your path. Her mission is to model that anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
Arts and Craft Stations
From vibrant painting sessions to community art projects and beyond, children will rotate through five captivating workshops led by local leaders of the community. Each workshop offers a unique opportunity for young artists to experiment and express themselves across various mediums, fostering a love for creativity that lasts a lifetime.
Book Walk
Take a walk down the trail and read a book written by Calvert City native – Terrie White.
Food Vendors
Kids will be selling baked goods and lemonade and a favorite local food truck – Big Papa’s will be there to serve!
