Calvert City, Kentucky (November 7, 2023) – Thanksgiving is a time for full bellies and relaxation in recollecting the colonial Pilgrims1621 harvest meal. Join us on November 18-25 for a challenge with the only thing required to have is a full belly.

CC Cranksgiving Challenge will be held on a section of The Moneymaker Trail during the week of Thanksgiving. Crank out this timed challenge by biking, running, or walking this 1.5-mile course. Organizers are relying on the honor system for those up for the challenge.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our newest trail. Steve Moneymaker and many others do such a great job of upkeep on the trail, and we would love to see more folks enjoy it,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing, communications, and business development.

This friendly competition is a way to get out and get active during the week of Thanksgiving. Participants can walk, ride, or run the trail as many times as they can during November 18-24. There will be a start line and a finish line to mark when to start and stop your timer.

Age ranges for this are divided into elementary, middle school, and high school, adults 18-64, and adults 65+.

At the finish line, participants will find the leaderboard. Find your age group and if your time beats the time on the leaderboard, mark it off with the eraser and write your name and time in the box. Names listed on the leaderboard on November 25  at 5:00 PM will be the challenge winners and hold bragging rights for a year.

Be sure to share photos with Calvert City on social media of your finish time, the challenge, and the leaderboard. Please be courteous to all trail users as this is a shared challenge of running, biking, and walking.
