May 28, 2019 – Calvert City Food Truck Friday started May 3 and will run through September 27 in Doctor’s Memorial Park from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

“Cities across the country have started Food Truck Fridays and shown a great success. On a much smaller scale, we want to do the same type of event in Calvert City. Getting visitors into our community, visiting our top-notch parks, and having some great food while they’re here is a great way to show off our city,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing and business development for Calvert City.

Food trucks have been around over a century and recently have experienced a boom. “Calvert City supports local entrepreneurs. If you’re a first-time entrepreneur, a food truck is a great affordable option in starting a business. One local entrepreneurs’ success could encourage others in the community to pursue their dreams. Calvert City wants to be a champion for local start-up support.”

Over the last two years, food trucks have become common in Calvert City. The struggle to find a place in the City was difficult. “This event gives food trucks the opportunity to safely park their trucks in a high-trafficked area during lunchtime and there is no fee to set up.

Every Monday the list of food trucks is posted on the Calvert City Facebook Page and Instagram Story. “Local businesses give a community its vibe. Calvert city is sustainability-focused and an active community. We are always thinking of unique ways to increase the quality of life in our city.”
