CALVERT CITY, KY – Calvert City has announced the winners of its Holiday Lights Contest. 24 nominations were received during the event held November 29 through December 5 with final judging taking place on December 5.
Our judges spent hours looking at homes and businesses before making their decision. Homes were judged on creativity, wow-factor, and complexity.
This competition started last year and has nearly doubled in participation. “It is amazing the lengths these families go to in decorating for the holidays. I encourage everyone to drive through Calvert City and see the beautiful displays at night,” said Calvert City Mayor Lynn Jones.
Two categories were judged. Non-Traditional and Traditional. Winners received a yard sign to display in their yard for bragging rights. We’d like to congratulate all the winners and encourage everyone to start planning for next year!
