Calvert City, KY – As spring approaches, the community is invited to shake off the winter blues and help refresh the natural beauty of Kentucky Dam Village State Park. The Kentucky Dam Village Spring Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate in this community-wide effort to beautify the park in preparation for the warm months ahead. A complimentary lunch will be provided to all participants at noon.
Volunteers should meet at the Administration Office at 113 Administration Avenue, Calvert City, Kentucky, to check in and receive instructions. To ensure safety and efficiency, participants are encouraged to bring the following items:
- Heavy-duty work gloves
- Trash poker or long tongs
- Reusable water bottle (refill stations will be available)
- Snacks (if needed)
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Signed volunteer/parental consent agreement form
Additionally, proper attire is essential for safety. Volunteers should wear:
- High-top work boots with non-skid soles (no open-toed shoes)
- A hat or scarf for sun protection
- Long pants and a long-sleeve shirt
- Weather-appropriate outerwear for cold or hot temperatures
Participation in this cleanup effort is a great way to give back to the community, enjoy the great outdoors, and take part in maintaining the park’s natural beauty. In the event of inclement weather, a rain make-up day is scheduled for March 22, 2025.
