DAVE’S JINGLE DASH 5K AND FUN WALK

Dave is a Calvert City icon and he is raising money to buy Christmas presents for the Marshall County Family Resource Center. Last year, Dave had a goal of $250. He raised $3000 and donated the funds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year Dave wants to keep it local and donate to local youth in need just in time for Christmas!
After the event, Dave will take the funds earned and go Christmas shopping with the Family Resource Center crew! Dave won’t be shopping alone though – The Marshall County Exceptional Students will be joining him to shop till they drop!
Join us for a 5K, and/or a .5 fun walk with Dave around Memorial Park by registering HERE!
Dave asks that you wear your ugliest sweater and participate in this fun-filled event! All proceeds will be donated to the Marshall County Family Resource Center.

CALVERT CITY LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS PARADE

This is the 63rd year for the parade and Calvert City has the honor and distinction of having the longest, continuous-running Christmas parade in Western Kentucky.  Once again, this year’s parade will be at night and the theme is “Christmas Lights Everywhere!”

Businesses, churches, and organizations are encouraged to enter a float in the parade. The parade entries are requested to assemble at Pathway Baptist Church at 4:45 pm. There is no pre-registration for the parade. Floats will be judged at 5:30 p.m. with the parade kicking off at 6:00 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for best use of lights on a float, best use of lights for a golf cart, best float that represents our theme, and overall best float. Float entries other than the Lions Club’s float may not include Santa Claus.

The parade route will begin at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and KY 95 and then proceed along Fifth Avenue to the Calvert City Civic Center where Santa will meet with the children and the Calvert City Lions will provide free hotdogs and drinks to all participants.

For more information regarding the parade, please contact parade chairman Terry Davis at terry72448@gmail.com or call him at (270) 395-7198.
