The Calvert City Police Department is proud to announce the addition of Officer Dennis Lewis to its dedicated team. On December 23, during a ceremony held at City Hall, Mayor Gene Colburn administered the Oath of Office, officially welcoming Officer Lewis to the community.
Officer Lewis brings nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience to Calvert City. A lifelong resident of Marshall County since the age of four, he has deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to public service. His passion for serving others inspired him to pursue a career in law enforcement, and he graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, in 2006.
Throughout his career, Officer Lewis has earned certifications as a firearms instructor, Taser instructor, and D.A.R.E. officer, demonstrating his dedication to safety and education. Outside of his professional achievements, he is a devoted father to two teenagers and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.
“Officer Lewis’s extensive experience and passion for public service make him an invaluable addition to our police department,” said Mayor Gene Colburn. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our community.”
The Calvert City Police Department continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents by building a team of highly skilled and community-focused officers. Officer Lewis’s appointment underscores the department’s commitment to excellence in public safety.
