Calvert City residents will see a modest increase in their monthly sanitation fee beginning on the August bill, with the rate for residential trash pickup rising from $7.00 to $8.50 per month for street pickup and $12.00 per month per container for side or rear of the dwelling pickup. This change reflects the first adjustment in over a decade and is necessary to continue providing high-quality and reliable waste management services.
Calvert City continues to offer twice-a-week curbside pickup, a frequency not commonly provided in most municipalities nationwide. In addition to regular trash service, residents benefit from alternating monthly pickup of bulk household items and yard waste, which enhances convenience and supports cleanliness throughout the city.
Commercial customers will also experience an adjustment, with rates increasing to $12.13 per month.
Only city-issued trash containers will be collected. If a household requires an additional container, it can be requested through Calvert City Hall for an additional fee.
How Calvert City Compares Nationally
Across the United States, residents typically pay an average of $14–$20 per month for residential trash services, often for once-weekly pickup with limited or no bulk/yard waste collection included. Calvert City’s rate of $8.50 per month for twice-weekly pickup and additional monthly services remains significantly below national averages, offering residents tremendous value.
