The Calvert City Public Works Department will begin its annual loose-leaf pickup service on November 11, 2024. This seasonal program provides residents with a convenient way to manage leaves while helping to keep city drains clear and functioning efficiently during the winter months. The final day for loose leaf collection is set for January 6, 2025, after which leaves will no longer be vacuumed and need to be bagged.
To simplify our route system, there will be two routes this year for leaf pickup. Route 1 will be for residents who have garbage pick up on Mondays and Thursdays. Route 2 will be for residents who have garbage pickup on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Residents can visit the city website under “SERVICES” to view the pickup schedule or download the schedule by clicking HERE. Please ensure all leaves are placed within five feet of the street, as the vacuum hose has limited reach. Leaves should not block drainage areas or be piled in the road. For residents who prefer to bag their leaves, free leaf bags are available at Calvert City – City Hall.
Leaf pickup schedules may shift based on weather conditions. By keeping leaves out of street drains, residents can help prevent clogging and support effective drainage during rain or snow events.
