Calvert City folks can start their Saturday with breakfast and then hear directly from local candidates as two separate community events take place Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Calvert City Civic Center.
The Calvert City Lions Club will host its traditional Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. The breakfast will include pancakes, bacon and sausage for $10 per person. Children younger than 6 may eat free with a paying adult.
“The pancake breakfast has been a long-standing tradition for the Calvert City Lions Club and is something we look forward to hosting for our community,” Lions Club President Jeremy Powell said. “It gives us a chance to spend time with our neighbors while supporting the work our club does throughout the year. We appreciate everyone who continues to come out and support this tradition.”

Following the breakfast, the Calvert Area Development Association (CADA) will host Meet Your 2026 Candidates beginning at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center.
The candidate forum is a separate event from the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, and there is no fee to attend the forum. Candidates for Calvert City mayor and county commissioners, Marshall County judge-executive and Marshall County Board of Education candidates have been invited to participate.
“Hosting Meet Your Candidates allows members of our community to hear directly from the people seeking to represent them,” CADA President Brittany Story said. “Our goal is to provide an organized, welcoming setting where residents can learn more about the candidates, their priorities and their perspectives before heading to the polls in November.”
Each participating candidate will have up to five minutes to address attendees and share information about themselves, their priorities, and their reasons for seeking office. CADA is also accepting questions from members of the community to help guide the forum. Residents may submit questions through the Calvert Area Development Association Facebook page prior to the event. Submitted questions may be used during the forum to give candidates an opportunity to address topics that are important to local residents.
