The City of Calvert City, Calvert Area Development Association and Tennessee RiverLine invite the community to enjoy a morning on Kentucky Lake during the 2026 KY Lake Fall Paddle Up on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The family-friendly paddle will launch at 9 a.m. from Sledd Creek Boat Ramp and finish at Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to mark themselves as “Going” on the Facebook event page and arrive ready to paddle.
Through its partnership with Tennessee RiverLine, Calvert City will offer a limited number of kayaks at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to the fleet helps introduce paddling to people who may not own a kayak or have had an opportunity to try it.
“Being a Tennessee RiverTown gives Calvert City another way to connect people with the water that is such a big part of our community,” said Mayor Gene Colburn. “Our partnership with Tennessee RiverLine allows us to use its kayak fleet for events like this, giving more people the opportunity to get on the water, try something new, and experience the beauty of our city from a different perspective.”
Check-in will be held from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at Sledd Creek Boat Ramp, followed by a safety briefing and event overview at 8:45 a.m. Paddlers will launch at 9 a.m., with an estimated finish at 11 a.m.
Participants should have their kayaks at Sledd Creek by 8:45 a.m. and coordinate with a friend to stage a vehicle at Kentucky Dam Village Beach Boat Ramp before launch. Event staff will monitor kayaks dropped off at Sledd Creek while participants take a vehicle to the finish location. Thank you to the Marshall County Rescue Squad for following the paddlers along the paddle. Also thanks to Pathway Baptist Church for providing a shuttle from Kentucky Dam Village to Sledd Creek Boat Ramp from 8 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
All paddlers must wear a life jacket and know how to swim. Each participant will also receive a breakfast voucher from 50’s Cafe.
