The City of Calvert City, Kentucky has an opening for Water/Wastewater Operator. Persons interested in applying for this position must file an application for the position at the Clerk’s Office of Calvert City – City Hall no later than 12:00 p.m. central standard time, Friday, August 25, 2023.
The person selected for this position shall report to the Utility System Superintendent and:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be available for mandatory emergency call-outs 24/7
- Must be available for periodic weekend duties which require the completion of scheduled tasks and on-call response
Under supervisory direction, this position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of:
- Water and Wastewater treatment plants
- Water distribution system
- Wastewater collection system
- General laborer tasks
Operators must obtain proper licenses and certifications as required for compliance with Kentucky regulations. The cost of certification including training, training materials, and testing is covered by the Utility Department.
Beginning hourly pay rate: $20.50/hour plus benefits. Scheduled increases occur with each license level achieved.
