Get ready to experience the allure of Calvert City’s newest beauty haven, Blondie’s Salon. With the grand opening scheduled for October 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Blondie’s invites the local community and beauty enthusiasts to come together and celebrate this exciting moment.
Located across the street from the Calvert City Civic Center, Blondie’s Salon promises to be your one-stop destination for all things self-care. The open house will include giveaways, permanent jewelry from Polka Dots and Paislees, Blue Moon Jewelry for sale, ice cream from Krazy Kones, and much more.
This new business endeavor is the realization of a lifelong dream for its owner, Kourtney Gregory, who has called Calvert City home for her entire life. Her journey to entrepreneurship began as a child, visiting the iconic Fifth Avenue Barbershop with her father to get his hair cut by the small-town celebrity, Anna Williams. “Opening Blondie’s can only be described as a God thing. It was perfect timing and the perfect place for me to start my business,” said Gregory. These cherished memories serve as the inspiration for Blondie’s.
At 19 she began her entrepreneurship career as an eyelash extension specialist. Flash forward a few years and Gregory continues to expand her knowledge and now at age 22 she is opening her own salon.
Gregory pays special tribute to her parents. “My parents instilled in me that nothing is impossible and it’s never too late to start something new,” said Gregory. Their support and encouragement have fueled her passion to open Blondie’s and bring not just a salon, but a place the community feels welcome. “I plan to offer classes and host events and will always strive to include other small business owners too,” she followed.
Gregory’s favorite part about being a cosmetologist is the connection she has with her clients. “It’s a lot deeper than pretty hair and lashes,” she said. She has met lasting friendships throughout her career and enjoys building close relationships with her clients.
Kourtney is a dog mom, a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, a friend, and now officially a business owner. Let’s show Blondie’s a warm Calvert City welcome on October 12 from 5-7 p.m. at this free event. The Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce will cut the ribbon on the open house at 4:00 p.m.
