BOARDS & COMMISSIONS

Great Life.

Great Opportunity.

Calvert City is an active community located along the Tennessee River in Western Kentucky. We have high-demand careers and take pride in our parks and affordable living. But that’s not what makes Calvert City special. If you’ve noticed one thing, we are BIG on community and active living. Don’t take our word for it. Experience it yourself. Calvert City is for those seeking a great life with great opportunity.

Bordered by Interstate 69 and Interstate 24, Calvert City is just a days drive to 70% of major cities in the United States.

Calvert City Elementary is within walking distance to most of the homes in Calvert City. CCE promotes life-long learners and implements a curriculum that incorporates innovative use of technology in the classroom.

Community Planning

We’re forward thinkers here in Calvert City and strive for growth and sustainability. These plans guide decision-making to ensure steady and organized progress towards achieving the city’s desired future.

Meet Mayor GENE COLBURN

Gene thinks the surrounding area is a great place to raise a family. A life-long resident of Calvert City, he served 12 years on Calvert City Council before being appointed Mayor of Calvert City in 2021.

“I think our area offers unparalleled opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities while being an easy drive to several urban cities like Nashville and St Louis,” said Colburn.

Gene grew up in Calvert City. He moved away for a short time, but after graduating from college as an engineer, an opportunity arose in Calvert City with then ISP.  He is currently the director of operations for Estron Chemical in Calvert City.

Gene and his wife, Suzy, have a son and a daughter, Jordan, and Sydney. They enjoy boating, traveling, and walking their ‘Derby-Dog’ in Calvert City Parks. “I believe we are heading for some exciting changes here at Calvert City and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Last year he celebrated 50 years of marriage to his wife and best friend, Linda. Growing up in Calvert City, Howard spent many days with friends walking and biking all over the city. “It is really much like Mayberry,” he said. Several years later, he still enjoys Calvert City Parks.

Neeta is a Calvert City native with family roots traced to the late 1800’s. She loves Calvert City and all the amenities it has to offer, but one thing stands out the most – the shared sense of community.
