Calvert City is preparing for one of its best Independence Day celebrations ever as AmeriBration returns July 4 with a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food, shopping, a parade, and an expanded fireworks display honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
Hosted by the Calvert Area Development Association (CADA) and Calvert City, AmeriBration has been a community tradition since 1989. It continues to bring together residents, visitors, and families from across the region.
“This year’s fireworks show will be bigger and better than ever as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary,” Mayor Gene Colburn said. “AmeriBration is one of Calvert City’s most cherished traditions, and we’re excited to honor our nation’s history while bringing our community together for a memorable Independence Day celebration.”
The day begins with a Veterans Brunch from 9 to 11 a.m. Veterans eat free, while tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 10 a.m. behind the Memorial Park Amphitheater. Registration will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on July 4. Entry is $20 per team, with 50 percent of proceeds paid out to winners. Participants should bring their own boards and bags.
Visitors can enjoy a full day of free live music at the Memorial Park Amphitheater featuring our headliner, Marty Brown. Marty Brown is a Kentucky-born country music singer-songwriter known for his traditional country sound, heartfelt storytelling, and nationally recognized songwriting career. After recording for MCA Records in the 1990s and writing songs for artists such as Tracy Byrd and Brooks & Dunn, Brown gained a new generation of fans through his memorable appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2013. Today, he continues to perform across the country, proudly representing his Kentucky roots and classic country music traditions. He hits the stage at 7:00 PM. More of the lineup will be released at a later date.
Additional activities throughout the day include:
The Calvert City Museum, located inside the Calvert City Civic Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering guests an opportunity to explore more than 150 years of local history.
Children are invited to participate in the Kids’ Parade at Memorial Park Amphitheater. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bicycles, scooters, and themselves. Free popsicles will be provided following the parade. Time and location TBD
The AmeriBration Parade will begin at 6 p.m. along Fifth Avenue. Lineup starts at 5 p.m. at Pathway Baptist Church. This year’s theme is “We the People — Celebrating Our Community and Our Unity.” No pre-registration is required. Awards will be presented for best float, golf cart and classic car. Fifth Avenue will be closed from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for the parade.
“For many families, AmeriBration feels like a giant family reunion,” CADA President Brittany Story said. “Since 1989, this event has brought generations together to celebrate our country, reconnect with friends and neighbors, and create lasting memories. It’s one of the traditions that makes Calvert City such a special place.”
