The Calvert City Police Department is proud to announce the addition of Officer Tom Starks to its dedicated team. On December 5 at City Hall, Mayor Gene Colburn administered the Oath of Office, officially welcoming Officer Starks to the community.
Officer Starks brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to service. Originally from Oklahoma, he has been married for 31 years and has five children. He has devoted much of his life to serving others. His background includes four years in the U.S. Coast Guard and 22 years as a preacher, demonstrating his dedication to both his country and his faith.
With 15 years of police service, Officer Starks has served in both Tremble County, Kentucky, and McCracken County. His exemplary career includes achieving the Advanced Patrol Supervisor certificate and serving as a patrol sergeant for McCracken County.
“We’re thrilled to have someone of Officer Starks’ caliber join our police department,” said Mayor Gene Colburn. “His extensive experience, leadership skills, and dedication to serving others will make him an invaluable asset to our community.”
Chief of Mike Canon echoed the mayor’s sentiment, adding, “Tom’s background and training will strengthen our department, and I am confident he will make a positive impact in Calvert City.”
The City of Calvert City warmly welcomes Officer Starks and looks forward to the contributions he will bring to the safety and well-being of the community.
