For kids and adults of all ages, Kites Over Calvert is a great place to spend a spring afternoon with your family. Join us in Calvert City on May 4 from 1-3 PM in Doctor’s Park.

This event is free and open to the public. Calvert Area Development Association (CADA) will be giving kites away on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 1:00 PM. Get to Doctor’s Park (Behind Calvert City Hall) early to claim a free kite or bring your own.

“This is one of my favorite events that CADA hosts. We’ve been cooped up all winter and we always have a great turnout for this event. People are ready to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather,” said Brittany Story, CADA President.

This event operates on “kite-time” and if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will be changed to the following weekend.

“Calvert City is so lucky to have CADA. The organization has great volunteers who create such fun event ideas. Kites Over Calvert has been happening in Calvert City for many years and each year it grows. Seeing kids fly kites for the first time is such a heart-warming experience, and at no cost to the family,” said Blair Travis, director of marketing, communications, and business development for Calvert City.
